How to sell a modified car on The Car Scene

Turn your build's history into your best selling point: how listing from your Garage works, what the listing fee covers, and how Spotlight boosts visibility.

Start from your Garage, not a blank listing form

Cars for sale must already exist as a vehicle in your Garage. That's deliberate: your build timeline, logged modifications, and photos become part of the listing automatically, so a buyer sees the real history behind the car instead of a bare spec sheet. If your car isn't in your Garage yet, add it first from Garage > Add a Vehicle.

Publish from Sell

From Sell, choose Car, pick the vehicle from your Garage, add your asking price and listing description, then pay the one-off listing fee to go live. Your existing vehicle photos carry over, but it's worth adding a few sale-specific shots (full exterior, interior, engine bay) if you haven't already.

Boost visibility with Spotlight

A Spotlight listing is pinned near the top of search and browse results for a set period, so it gets seen by more buyers. Pro members get one boost credit every week; anyone can also buy a one-off boost for a single listing without a Pro subscription.

Talk to buyers without sharing personal contact details

Every listing has a message button that opens a direct conversation inside The Car Scene. You don't need to share a phone number or email just to answer a question or arrange a viewing, and the conversation stays attached to that listing if you need to look back at it later.

After the sale

Once a sale completes, both buyer and seller can leave a rating for each other, building a trust signal that carries onto future listings. If you're not ready to sell yet but want an idea of value, the Price Guide on a similar listing shows a min/median/max range from recently expired and sold listings for the same make, model, and year range.
