Using the Vehicle History Lookup to see a car's logged modifications and community-reported history before you commit to buying it.
Search a UK registration on the Vehicle History Lookup page, and if that car has ever been listed or built on The Car Scene, you'll see its logged modifications and any community-reported history attached to it. It's aimed at helping a buyer research one specific car they're already considering, not a general public plate-lookup tool for looking up someone else's car out of curiosity.
A standard vehicle history check tells you about write-offs, finance, and mileage, but says nothing about whether a "remapped, coilovers, full exhaust" listing is actually true. If the seller built the car on The Car Scene, the logged timeline gives you a dated, photographed record instead of having to trust the listing description alone.
A car with no record simply hasn't been built or listed on the platform, it doesn't mean anything is wrong with it. Use the Price Guide for that make/model/year range for a rough value sense, and ask the seller directly for photos and receipts covering the modifications they're claiming.
